Trying to be me
The world sees you as Asian.
Your parents see you as their own.
The world wants you to act the way stereotypes promised them you'd act.
The news media expect you to grovel like a "fairytale orphan."
Magazines and radio shows want you to continually be unbalanced, “grappling” with your identity and “questioning” who you are. On a never ending "journey." God forbid you ever find yourself.
And all I really want to be is ME.
